OrthTeam 's Consultant Knee and Trauma Surgeon Mr Phil Turner has recently been announced as the President Elect for the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA). 

Phil has previously been a Council Member of the British Orthopaedic Association, Chairman of the BOA Training Standards Committee and is a member of the British Association for Surgery of the Knee, a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine and member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.

 He will begin his role as Vice President in 2017 before moving into the role of President of the British Orthopaedic Association in 2018.

Commenting on his new position Phil said "It's an honour to be elected and I'm looking forward to the many opportunities and challenges of tmy new role during the coming years. One of the pleasures of being elected to the Presidential line is the task of editing the Journal of Trauma and Orthopaedics. It is an additional pleasure to realise that I share this work with such a talented and enthusiastic Editorial Team. I look forward to providing you with interesting and thought-provoking items for the next two years"
