OrthTeam take on Yorkshire Three Peaks

OrthTeam administrator, Caroline Hulmston, recently took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge. After climbing Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, she is hoping to have raised over £1,000 for the British Heart Foundation.

The challenge took her and 20 members of the BMI Alexandra Hospital team on the infamous Yorkshire Three Peaks route, through the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. The peaks themselves form part of the Pennine range, which meant travelling over 25 miles of terrain and collectively ascending 5,200 feet. The pictures below demonstrate just what the walk entailed, and the stunning countryside it took place in.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge time was 12 hours, and Caroline completed it in 11 hours and 55 minutes, along with the BMI Alexandra Hospital members. Caroline got sponsorships from her friends and family, and altogether they aim to have raised over £1,000 for British Heart Foundation; the leading heart charity in the United Kingdom.
