How OrthTeam helped Bianca Walkden to Rio 2016

It was recently announced that Bianca Walkden, a European and World taekwondo champion, will be travelling to the Rio 2016 Olympics to represent Team GB in their taekwondo team.

She only recently suffered a potentially career ending injury, but OrthTeam consultant Phil Turner helped Bianca in dealing with and recovering from the setback she suffered.

Speaking on her injury and journey, she said:

“My journey to Rio 2016 has been a rollercoaster because I ruptured my ACL and then had to make a return back from injury in order to qualify – which has been a tough process within itself, so it’s amazing to have been selected.”

Competing in the +67kg weight division, she will be joined by Jade Jones, Mahama Cho and Lutalo Muhammad as they look to bring the gold back to Great Britain.

OrthTeam would like to congratulate Bianca Walkden on both her impressive recovery, and her outstanding achievement in being selected for Team GB.

Bianca Walkden is already a celebrated taekwondo champion at just the age of 24.
